Biography
Jenny Bede is a actor & comedy writer/performer from Pinner, Middlesex, the town from which Elton John also hails . Much like Sir Elton, she wears a wig, is married to a man named David Furnish & had a hit with the song 'Rocketman' in 1972.
Born in 1983 Jenny had an active interest in the arts since an early age and after leaving school decided to pursue this. After 2 years bouncing around in a girl band and temping at various establishments in North West London, Jenny decided to apply to the prestigious Royal Academy of Music (where Sir Elts also attended). She was accepted onto the Musical Theatre course under the direction of Mary Hammond, where she later graduated with Distinction.
Career higlights since leaving the academy have included working with Melly Still (director of Coram Boy at the National) on her production of 'Zaide', heading up the cast of 'Sweet Charity' at the Theatre Royal, Drury Lane & duetting with Blue on the classic, 'Sorry Seems to be the Hardest Word'.
Perhaps topping all of this was being cast in a Bodyform advert which was directed by Peter Cattaneo (The Full Monty). No, she didn't get to rollerskate with a dog, and Yes, she was cut from the final edit. During a stint last year in the cast of NewsRevue, (the long-running, fast-paced, topical, musical sketch show) Jenny began to write material for the show and consequently realised that to write and perform comedy was what she wished to concentrate on. 6 months, 5 viral hits & 1 cheap wig later Jenny has started to pave a name for herself as an up and coming musical comedian.
